BKW is embarking on a new chapter

Why further developing our brand is about more than just a new visual identity

The world is changing rapidly. Technologies are evolving at a blistering pace, markets are becoming more complex and, at the same time, society is facing one of the greatest transformations of our time: the gradual independence from fossil fuels. 

For this to succeed, it will take more than just individual solutions. What is needed are companies that pool expertise, actively shape developments and can think about and implement projects holistically.  

This is precisely where BKW’s strengths lie. We bring together expertise along the entire value chain: from renewable energy production and the expansion of networks and storage systems to smart buildings and innovative infrastructure solutions. We offer trailblazing services from a single source and with a clear view of the needs of people, companies and society as a whole.  

From a regional energy supplier to an international energy and infrastructure service provider 

For more than 125 years, BKW has stood for pioneering spirit, reliability and progress. Once a traditional energy supplier, we are now an international energy and infrastructure business with 12,300 employees.  

We have grown significantly in recent years and have continuously expanded our service portfolio. However, our public perception in the market has not yet completely caught up with this evolution. In many places, we are still seen primarily as a traditional energy company, even though our expertise has long since expanded beyond this.

In order to keep pace with this change, we are taking systematic steps to develop our brand further. It’s about much more than just a new look. A simplified brand architecture will enable us to create clarity and make the diversity of our services more visible. 

We are moving closer together and highlighting long-standing links  

We are strengthening the BKW master brand, complemented by clearly positioned sub-brands in selected Business Areas. At the same time, established companies with their local roots and identity will continue to exist.  

The further development of our brand is the logical continuation of our strategic reorientation. With BKW Solutions 2030, we are pursuing a common direction across all Business Areas: together we address the challenges facing society today – and supply the solutions of tomorrow. Our aim is to position ourselves as the leading European provider of integrated energy, building and infrastructure solutions. The new brand strategy supports this path. It creates a stronger connection between our companies and also makes our goals clearly visible in the market.  

Introducing a strong umbrella brand helps to reinforce the sense of identity across all our companies.  
Areas that have long collaborated closely on a professional level are now being brought together in a way that is visible to the outside world. With this step, we are pooling our strengths and giving our diverse range of services a common face.  

A clear focus and a strong impact: a brand for the energy world of tomorrow 

Our brand is more than just an image. It provides orientation, makes our skills more visible and thus also strengthens the trust of customers, our partners and existing and potential employees. We are all our brand. With the new look, we are promoting dialogue within the BKW Group and making even better use of our expertise and synergies.  

This not only strengthens BKW’s visibility in the market, but also our common identity and impact as a Group – both internally and externally.  

The new brand will be launched in September 2026. The rollout will take place in stages. 
Selected companies are expected to transition to the new BKW brand identity by 2030.
