Overview of hydropower plants

Together with our Group companies and partners, BKW operates around 50 hydropower plants in Switzerland and in Italy with a total output of around 1,700 megawatts (MW). With these power plants, we generate an average of 4,000 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity per year. This equates to the annual requirements of around 900,000 households.
