The election of Linda de Winter and Martin Keller to the Board of Directors would boost the technological and economic expertise of BKW and shift its strategic focus onto sustainable corporate development.
Linda de Winter (b. 1972) is currently the CIO and a member of the Executive Board of Swisscard. Previously, she held a number of different IT leadership positions with Swiss Post and Swisscom. She gained international experience as a business development manager with Siemens. Linda de Winter has degrees in industrial engineering and telecommunications, as well as an MBA from Webster University Geneva. She received the Inspiring Fifty Award in 2019 in recognition of her outstanding work for women in the technology sector. “In Linda de Winter, BKW is gaining an expert in digitalisation, IT and cyber security. Her experience will help us take the next strategic steps in our digital transformation”, said Roger Baillod, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Martin Keller (b. 1970) has a PhD in agronomics from ETH Zurich. He started working with the agricultural cooperative Fenaco in 2010 and was appointed CEO in 2012. Last year, Martin Keller decided to step down with effect from the end of June 2025 and apply his broad management experience on a strategic level in future. Under his leadership, Fenaco managed to create more than 2,000 jobs and expand its international operations. The Bern native was also a crucial driving force behind the sustainable transformation of the company, including Agrola’s evolution from a fossil fuel supplier into a comprehensive energy provider that brings renewable energies and mobility to the countryside.
“I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to Kurt Schär for his many years of dedication, his exceptional work and his valuable entrepreneurial expertise on the Board of Directors. At the same time, I am pleased to announce that we have been able to set the wheels in motion quickly for Martin Keller to succeed him. Martin Keller has valuable strategic experience to offer and will support the sustainable development of BKW,” said Baillod.
