BKW Infra Services expands its presence in French-speaking Switzerland and enters in catenary construction services

Duvoisin-Groux Group joins the BKW network

For BKW Infra Services, acquiring the Duvoisin-Groux Group is a doubly beneficial expansion step. It significantly strengthens its presence in the energy, transport and telecommunications market in French-speaking Switzerland, while the addition of catenary construction services also gives the company an entrée into the growing railway infrastructure market.

The Duvoisin-Groux Group’s activities include network infrastructure project management, construction and maintenance in the areas of electricity, overhead lines and telecommunications, and in external illumination, lighting and signalling systems. The company also conducts environmental studies and is active in the field of new network technologies. The Duvoisin-Groux Group was founded in 1947 and is among the leading network construction companies in French-speaking Switzerland. The Group, with locations in Bussigny (Vaud) and Sion (Valais), has recorded strong growth in recent years and employs 200 people who work throughout French-speaking Switzerland. In the last few years, the company has generated revenue in the lower double-digit million range.

The acquisition of the Duvoisin-Groux Group enhances the presence of BKW Infra Services in French-speaking Switzerland. It also adds catenary construction to its existing areas of activity – energy, water, telecommunications and transport. Given the extensive expansion works planned for the Swiss railway infrastructure, this is a promising growth market. BKW Infra Services is enhancing its position as a comprehensive service provider throughout Switzerland for the planning, construction and maintenance of all types of network infrastructure. And in Germany, its subsidiary LTB Leitungsbau GmbH is one of the top three companies in transmission line construction.

Commenting on the acquisition of the Duvoisin-Groux Group, Werner Sturm, CEO of BKW Infra Services says: ‘The Duvoisin-Groux Group offers the ideal complement to our existing activities. With this acquisition, we are taking one step further in our successful growth trajectory.’ Jean-Pierre Mitard, Managing Director and former majority shareholder of the Duvoisin-Groux Group, says: ‘By joining the BKW Group, we are building a sustainable, secure foundation for the future of our company. The BKW network will enable us to continue growing while also giving us access to new markets.’
