R&P Ruffert GmbH, an engineering company specialising in structural planning, joins BKW Group

The German engineering company will strengthen the BKW Engineering network

The BKW Group continues to expand its engineering network in Germany. At its sites in eastern and western Germany, R&P Ruffert GmbH offers engineering and evaluation services, with a focus primarily on structural planning. This acquisition allows BKW Engineering to expand the skills of its network and strengthen its position in competition with multidisciplinary market leaders.

Founded in 1976 by Heinz Georg Ruffert in Limburg, Germany, the R&P group today has additional companies in Erfurt, Halle, Düsseldorf and Hamburg, and project offices in Berlin, Koblenz, Frankfurt, Leipzig and Nuremberg. Its range of services encompasses civil engineering, structural engineering, structural planning, and constructional testing and evaluation. With about 130 employees, R&P Ruffert GmbH records revenues in the lower eight figures.

This takeover supplements and strengthens BKW Engineering’s network in eastern and western Germany. It also offers synergies with other BKW Engineering companies, particularly in structural planning, and expands the network’s expertise in the field of building information modelling (BIM). The existing owners and management of R&P Ruffert GmbH will continue to run the company. They see the move into BKW Engineering’s network as a further strategic development of their company.

The takeover is subject to approval by the German Monopolies Commission.
